The Baltimore Area Triathlon Club (BATC) is a USAT-registered Triathlon club based in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Our club offers guidance and support in the sport of Triathlon to individuals of all ages and abilities. We welcome individuals of all abilities and ages. Our members range from seasoned Triathletes to those wanting to participate in their first race. For individuals who are just starting out, the club offers a New Triathlete Program. Individuals who sign up for the New Triathlete Program ($25 fee) receive a training plan, beginner clinics and individually assigned club mentors to guide them to a fun and successful first triathlon.
The club holds monthly meetings and regular workouts, which are open to members of the BATC. You must become a dues-paying member to receive emails about all club events and to qualify for some of the sponsor-provided and club-provided goodies. Please visit our website to join the club.
Dues-paying members receive regular emails about upcoming events such as workouts, socials, free clinics, mock races, and race course previews. We do not publicize all our events on our social media sites. Our popular Swim-Bike-Run (SBR) workouts are sprint-length mock-races (1/2 mi swim, 14 mi bike ride, 5K run). SBRs are held regularly throughout the race season at the Hammerman area of Gunpowder Falls State Park. Other weekly workouts include group bike rides, group runs and track workouts.
You can find our club well represented at many local races with banners and a BATC tent staffed by volunteers who support their fellow members with sponsored food, drink, and camaraderie. Our modest annual dues ($35) cover the cost of food, drink, venues, race support, coaching, clinics and insurance. Finally, our corporate sponsors provide substantial discounts to members. The value of theses discounts easily exceed the cost of dues.
